 About the World Federation DSA
Founded in 1978, the
World Federation
Direct Selling Association (WFDSA) is an independent
organisation that represents the Direct Selling industry around the
globe.
Membership consists of more than
50 national Direct Selling
Associations with one delegate from each country's association.
A global industry
In 2003, the estimated total global Direct Sales
force was 49 million people. The estimated global retail sales
in 2003 was $89 million. The country with the largest retail
sales from Direct Selling is America with an estimated 29.5 billion,
followed by Brazil with $3.92 billion and the United Kingdom with
over £2 billion. Retail sales in the Republic of Ireland total
over 50 million Euros annually.
